The following list contains preventative medical examinations that are not covered by the statutory health insurance funds. These benefits are described as "Individual Health Benefits" (IGEL) by the Associations of Panel Doctors.

Comprehensive, outpatient preventative examination
Sonographic preventative examination of the inner organs
Measurement of blood circulation to the arteries supplying the brain

Medical travel advice (incl. advice on vaccinations)
Compilation of a medical travel kit

Advice on sports medicine
 
Sport medical fitness test (with exercise ECG and, lactate measurement if necessary
Suitability examinations ( e.g. travel, diving, etc.)

Special laboratory services (on request)
Examination for the early detection of the prostrate carcinoma through determination of the prostrate-specific antigen ( PSA )
Examinations for the early detection of other forms of cancer by means of so-called tumour markers
Determination of blood group
Laboratory examinations at the request of the patient under specific circumstances,e.g. liver values, kidney values, blood fats, sexual hormones, vitamins, thyroid gland function, HIV test, immune function.

Injection of medicine that cannot be prescribed at the expense…….

Health Check
This includes previous history, a general physical examination, laboratory examinations of risk profile such as blood sugar, cholesterol, creatine, uric acid, urine, if necessary haemoccult test.
In regards to the statutory health insurance this health check is permissible every 2 years from the age of 35.

Additional Laboratory Services ( self-paying)
These laboratory examinations, as an addition to the health check, include blood sugar level, complete blood count with differentiation, mineral balance (sodium, potassium, iron), overall liver values (overall bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase, GGT, SGOT, SGPT), differentiation of the cholesterol into HDL and LDL, tri-glyceride, protein with supplementary inflammation parameters (electrophoresis).
